“Work hard, play hard.”No matter what kind of day it’s going to be, we always start it off with a friendly hello on Skype. And this goes for both of the teams in Sweden and Saigon. At the end of the week, we send out a summary of what everyone has achieved during the week. This may include recent deals and other internal goals. This gives the team a chance to make keep everyone on the same page. On top of a successful week’s summary, we like to celebrate with a Friday beer.
Team BuildingEach team member contributes to Pangara as a whole. At Pangara, we like to implement camaraderie whether we’re indulging in local Vietnamese fare on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City or in a Skype group chat with our co-founders back in Sweden. We build together as a team at Pangara. There are no hierarchies that hinder efficiency. At Pangara, we encourage everyone to communicate and work together. All of our main business goals and KPIs are team-based. Nothing is individually based. Co-Founders, David Svensson and Fredrik Wesslen who are based in Sweden, visit the HCMC office at least twice a year to get to know the team a little bit better and help implement team building activities.
Communication is KeyWe have a team of 40+ employees spread amongst our two locations (HCMC and Sweden), but we don’t let that stop us from communicating every single day. Team, tools and processes. These are the three components of remote work. As team members, we need to be both self-driven but also curious to find out opinions from other team members. We work in a fast evolving environment. It’s always a balance between structure, processes and flexibility. At Pangara, we like to keep things simple while still having some kind of control and a common view of our overall goals. Asana and Skype are two of our favourite programs when it comes to staying on top of projects and the day-to-day happenings in both offices. Asana is a great tool for spreading ideas and getting almost instant feedback along the way. As far as communication amongst the development team, we stick to Jira as a main tool. We have regular meetings across each area of the company, from development to delivery, marketing and more. Not just planning meetings but also short touch-base meetings every now and then to check the status of projects and solve any problems along the way.
